Roch Castle (Retreats Group)

“I have had the pleasure of working with and recommending 1A Aerials on various projects, mostly on Retreats Group sites including Roch Castle and Penrhiw Priory which are both 5 star properties. The Proprietor Dave Cooper has a vast amount of technical knowledge and experience which he is able to impart to anybody from tech experts to those with minimal understanding.

His work is very professional, reliable and clean and always to a high standard. On occasions Dave has had to overcome some very difficult installations, but with his common sense approach and his open manner of discussing installation details thoroughly with the client, makes it very easy for me to fully recommend 1A Aerials for a wide range of aerial applications.”

  • Work completed:

    • Freeview HD distribution system
    • Satellite distribution system
    • Fibreglass satellite dish
    • Marine antenna

  • We consulted with:

Roch Castle, a well known Pembrokeshire landmark underwent an impressive restoration on behalf of Retreats Group. The original brief was to provide TV reception to 8 guest rooms as discreetly as possible.

TV Distribution

1a Aerials installed a distribution system hidden well within the fabric of the building including a non-penetrating aerial mount (no bolts) to the castle roof.  We also advised on the installation of additional wiring to enable  satellite feed, should a future need arise.

Satellite Distribution

Customer demand required the addition of Sky TV two years later, which was seamlessly added to the originally specified cabling.  A weatherproof fibreglass dish was added to the roof and the original TV aerial, replaced with a marine standard antenna to resist corrosion from the sea air. The result is distrubtion systems for Freeview and Sky, housed neatly in the castle office. No equipment is viewable from within the guest rooms and TV channels can be selected via a single remote control.
