Treleddyn Holiday Cottages

I have been using 1a Aerials for nearly 3 years and always received a quality and prompt service. Dave’s expertise is vast, his ideas are always well thought through and nothing is too big a problem. If there are any challenges, he is always willing to go the extra mile to sort them out.

David Parry-JonesOwner, Treleddyn Holiday Cottages

Treleddyn offers two luxury holiday cottages; Lower Treleddyn Farmhouse and Hafod Y Gwynt Barn located just outside St Davids in Pembrokeshire.

The property owner lives and works away from the area and self manages his letting business.  He wanted to be able to access and monitor key utilities such as heating and oil supplies via the internet, to give him more control of the property maintenance process and added flexibility for his guests.

Guest WiFi

Using the existing wireless internet connection, 1a Aerials expanded the network to provide WiFi access for guests in both properties.  Internet signal was linked to the farmhouse via wireless bridge.

Remote control heating

Prior to our visit, the barn was already equipped with an older version of the Heatmiser remote control thermostat system. The Farmhouse heating was set on a fixed timer, with no thermostat connection.

1a Aerials upgraded the Heatmiser system in the Barn and installed WiFi thermostats around the farmhouse.  After a few minor adjustments to the plumbing network, the system now has the capability to monitor and adjust temperatures independently for several zoned areas.

The property owner can now view and control his central heating via the Heatmiser app from his PC, SMART phone or tablet. He can adjust temperature zones, set programmes times, apply ‘holiday mode’ from anywhere in the world.

Oil monitoring system

In addition to controlling the central heating, it is also possible to monitor oil levels remotely using the latest technology from Oil Pal.  The property originally used a radio-linked sender to relay the oil level from a dipstick in the tank to a digital plug-in oil gauge within the property.  1a Aerials upgraded the system to incorporate an ultrasonic sender on the tank which links to the broadband router inside the property, enabling the oil gauge to be accessed real-time via the web.

The property owner is now able to monitor oil levels and order supplies as necessary via the web. Handy to say the least!

Heatmiser and Oil Pal are both retail products available for purchase directly by the consumer.  If you are considering adding either of these to your property, contact us to find out how we can assist with the supply & fit of the complete system or simply just the installation and WiFi set up.
