12th Feb Storm was a first for us.
Since 1988 when I first started this job, I have never lost or had my own roof antenna damaged… Until yesterday that is!
Granted our rig is a bit out of the ordinary, carrying Wireless broadband relay equipment for TFL Group.
And to top it all,, we had no power from midnight last night until after lunch today so had been running a few essentials from the 240V inverter in the van!
I caught the rig on it’s way down part way through the afternoon. It’s been some years since I ventured onto a roof in gusts that were reportedly around 80mph, but I managed to hurriedly dismantle what I could and strap the rest down with my safety ropes until this morning when I spent a few hours putting everything back together.
