Work is all but complete on the installations for over twenty residents of Angle Village near Pembroke today.
With one final installation for tomorrow, everyone of the subscribers have had their equipment installed and will be surfing the net at around 10MBps download and 4MBps upload when the network is fully commissioned. (Hopefully by the end of next week – 19th Oct)
There have been some very interesting installs, not least the 19th Century Chapel Bay Fort which is still undergoing a major restoration project with charity funding.
Of all things… I also met a real BBC Darlek! (Don’t ask!)
One old military blockhouse has almost finished it’s transformation into a modern house worthy of a visit from the Grand Designs TV program. With Solar panels for both electricity and hot water as well as ground source heat pumps, this place will stay warm in the bleak windy days on the cliff-top of Angle.
I also finished off the blockhouse with a Marine Grade TV aerial that is both neat and tidy as well as robust and weatherproof enough to withstand a direct assalt from the pembrokeshire coastal spray
